Karka:
Transforming Lives, One Skill at a Time
The Karka Skill Development Program, created and implemented by Mastering Campus Careers (MC²), is a key initiative within the Lifeline project, a slum redevelopment effort spearheaded by Cheer and Studio RecycleBin. Lifeline challenges the traditional perception of slums as simply a housing issue, redefining urban informal settlements as communities that require holistic development. Through a convergence model, Lifeline bridges the gaps between government agencies, civil society organizations, and citizens, enabling communities to take charge of their own development. The program emphasizes a balanced approach, addressing livelihood, liveability, and community empowerment, aiming to create sustainable change in these underserved areas.
